This adapter has a 16A IEC 60309 ‘commando’ male plug on one end and a standard UK 13A (BS 1363) female socket on the other, letting equipment with a standard 13A plug run from a 16A commando supply commonly found on stage and truss power runs. It is a standard bridging item for touring and dry-hire power kits where venue or stage power is distributed via commando connectors.
The output is protected to 13A regardless of the 16A supply, in line with the BS 1363 socket’s rating, making it suitable for lighting fixtures, small AV equipment and general 13A loads drawing power from a commando circuit.
