The Blackmagic Design Micro Converter BiDirectional SDI/HDMI 3G is a pocket-sized signal converter that automatically detects SDI or HDMI input and converts it to the opposite format, supporting SD, HD and 2K DCI video standards up to 3G-SDI levels. Its bidirectional design means the same unit can be configured for SDI-to-HDMI or HDMI-to-SDI operation, giving crews a single flexible device to carry rather than separate up- and down-converters.
Powered via USB-C at just 2.5W, the converter can run from a USB power bank, a computer, or a mains USB adaptor, making it easy to deploy in tight camera rigs, on monitor stacks or inside flight cases for touring productions. Its compact aluminium housing and passive cooling make it a reliable, low-maintenance addition to any dry hire SDI/HDMI interfacing kit.
